When this service is the wrong fit
Please do not rely on this website, or wait for a session, if any of the following are true:
- You are thinking about ending your life or harming yourself.
- You are in immediate physical danger from another person.
- Someone else is in immediate physical danger.
- You are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms (e.g., severe disorientation, hallucinations affecting safety, manic episodes).
- You have just experienced a serious medical event (e.g., overdose, severe self-harm).
In any of these situations, please call your local emergency services or go to the nearest hospital. Time matters more than the right specialist.
Why a planned consultation can’t fill that role
Sessions are scheduled in advance. There may be hours or a day between you reaching out and being seen — that gap is unsuitable for crisis-level needs.
Crisis lines, hospitals, and emergency services are staffed and trained for the urgency that planned therapy is not designed to handle.
After a crisis has passed
If you have just come through a crisis and are now stable, planned consultation can be exactly the right next step — to make sense of what happened, build new coping, and reduce the chance of recurrence.
In that case, the free 10-minute discovery call is a good starting point. There is no expectation that you arrive ‘put together’.

If you are unsure
When in doubt, call a helpline. They will help you decide whether your situation is one for emergency services, a hospital, or something that can be planned for in the days ahead.
If you are unsure whether to book a session or seek emergency support, please choose the helpline first. There is always a session available afterwards.
